We got Pax when Finley was a baby and we lived in Seattle. We had just had a bad experience with a border collie puppy and wanted a 3rd dog that would mesh well with Indy and Goose.  We found out about a whippet that was available as a rehome from California that was 6 months old.  We were worried about getting another dog because of the horrible experience we had. The breeder assured us he was just a friendly little red whippet. Nothing to worry about. She was exactly right. This dog was so gentle and kind right up until the end. He loved to be warm and would cuddle with anyone that was willing, dog or human. He had the best temperament and was perfect with all people including elderly and babies.  We fully trusted him with all our litters and made sure to introduce him  in hopes that he would share some of his "good boy energy".  He was a joy to train for flyball and even did some whippet racing, agility and dock diving. He was up for anything as long as the weather conditions were favorable.  His work here was definitely done and he owed nothing more.  We could not have asked for a better dog.  Our only regret is that it never worked out to keep on of his kids. His biggest impact might be his numerous amazing kids and grandkids that share his temperament and athletic abilities; they will continue to make us proud for years to come.
